科技部973项目首席科学家,科技部重点研发计划项目负责人,江西省“人类衰老重点实验室主任”,江西省创新创业高层次人才“千人计划”入选者。本研究室拟运用群体遗传学和模式动物等手段,寻找和研究血管衰老及衰老相关心脑血管疾病的遗传机制,期望通过延缓衰老从而控制心脑血管疾病的发生和发展。Aging Cell 杂志的 supervising editor; BioEssay杂志的编委;发表SCI文章70余篇,包括Nature, Circulation, Human Molecular Genetics等。目前是Circulation等 20 余杂志的审稿人。

科技部重大研究计划973 项目“血管衰老的生物学基础”首席,研究领域围绕遗传、血管和衰老;从基因的发现到功能鉴定。主要通过群体遗传学方法寻找和确定人类衰老相关基因,然后研究它们在心血管疾病中的重要机制。
